Living in Japan

How are you?  Just the other day, it snowed in Tokyo!  It is VERY cold here.

As I have mentioned to you last month, I have come to Japan to prepare for All Nations Returnees Conference (ANRC).  This will be the first opportunities in history as well in overseas Japanese ministries for all returnees from around the world to get together in one place.  What would God do?  I am filled with much anticipation for God to do something wonderful. This is the feeling I had when we had the very first equipper conference. We are getting so busy getting ready.  We already have 300 registrations.  Please pray for more to come!

ANRCThis will be the very first All Nations Returnees Conference.  There are many different expectations.  Since we have participants from all around the world (Europe, Oceania, Asia, North America and so on.), our expectations are different.  We also have Japanese pastors/ministers who are serving outside of Japan at Japanese churches, or non-Japanese ministers who are ministering to Japanese International students and business people. The seeds of the Gospel were sown outside of Japan.  Once the bud comes out, it will be transferred to Japanese soil.  Those who are ministering to these people from both sides of the ocean will be gathered together to learn from one another, to worship God and pray together.  This will be the very first time to do so.  It is our hope and prayer that through our program we will be able to provide places and opportunities for these people to build network and partnership.  We look forward to God’s ministries. It is also our prayers that for those who have been away from God and the fellowship with other Christians, ANRC would serve as an opportunity to come back to such fellowship.  Also please pray that many would be challenged and called to serve in follow up ministries.  God willing, we hope to see many small groups for follow up and discipleship throughout Japan.  Please remember ANRC in your prayers.  (March 19th for forum and 20-22nd for the main conference in Saitama.)

RJC,Praise God and Challenge

I have been in Japan since the end of January, but I went to San Francisco for a week in the mid February to attend and serve at Reaching Japanese for Christ (RJC).  RJC is a conference to equip mainly Americans who are ministering to Japanese in North America.  This particular RJC was an international conference and we had participants from Canada, Brazil, Japan and Hong Kong.  The participants would include host families, students, retired missionaries, and future missionaries to Japan.  It also included those who had lived in Japan as students or business persons.  Of course, there are Japanese Christians as well.  Some came all the way from Japan and others came from San Francisco and other parts of the US.

If Equipper conference is the conference mainly to equip future RETURNEES, then RJC is mainly for those who will be SENDING these returnees and ANRC is for those who are RECEIVING returnees. One of many things that I am appreciative of RJC is just to be able to meet face to face with those who gathered together from all over the US and are eager to be better equipped to share the Good News with Japanese.  Their faithfulness really touches my heart and at the same time it is a great challenge to reflect on my own learniid_letter_mar_.jpgng attitude.  How much do I really want to be better equipped?  How much am I really interceding for the Japanese lost souls?  How am I serving God by ministering to them?  We have wonderful brothers and sisters who love Japanese and serve God by ministering to them.  They want to share the Gospel in spite of language, cultural and age differences.

Please pray for ANRC and JCFN

May God bless you today!

JCFN International Director
