Chihiro Nakamura
JCFN Interim International Director

Thank you very much for your prayers and involvement in JCFN's ministry.

"In a time of change, lay eyes on the unchanged." This phrase was the start of JCFN's fiscal year of 2011. We had just committed to JCFN's five-year ministry theme, "Transforming the changing world with the unchanging truth," during the annual joint staff meeting, just days prior to the 3.11 Japan earthquake. Over a year has passed since then and we have been reassured that this theme was surely given to us by God; we continue to recognize it as a ministry theme now.

“I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” Ephesians 4:1b
The calling given to JCFN is “to glorify God by equipping multi-cultural Japanese Christians for ministries.” We furthered this calling this year by setting our annual goal as “Empowering co-workers.” We are looking forward to serving the Lord together with returnees -- and those who minister to them-- as co-workers by encouraging, empowering, and becoming their resource.
This year, there are four associate staff members in both North America and Japan that follow-up returnees. All of JCFN staff members are involved in the planning and operating ANRC12 (All Nations Returnees Conference) planned for November in Kakegawa, Shizuoka. We are praying that ANRC12 will function as a “boost” to create a tighter network in welcoming returnees back to Japan and to encourage returnee ministries in various regions of Japan. JCFN plans to add a Japan staff member in the Spring of 2013 to join God’s movement in blessing regional ministries after ANRC12.
“‘Come,’ he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.”
Matthew 14:29
This new fiscal year feels like the time to take a step forward towards the unseen work of God. We want to continue to say “Yes” to God’s calling as we have in the past. As Peter responded to Jesus by getting out of the boat and walking on water, we want to respond to a God-size movement. Please continue to remember JCFN’s ministry in your prayers to work together as co-workers of Lord’s ministry.
