This summer, once again, we have sent many friends back to Japan, some for good, and some just for the summer. They reported to us saying that they attended JCFN fellowship and enjoyed it very much. They met friends from ec and got to go to church with them. We rejoice and pray for returnees ministries on the receiving end. We also pray for those who have returned to Japan and have begun their new chapter of lives.
By the time you are reading this the fall semester has begun. However, right now in the US, we are having the 6th WIT Leadership Training Camp, one of the main returnee equipping events. JCFN’s mission statement is “To Glorify God by equipping multicultural Japanese Christians for Ministry.” During the limited time they are here in the US, we equip them to be servant leaders. We provide practical how-to tools so that they are more effective in sharing the Gospel to their friends at school and work. We also train them to be trainers of leaders so that by the time they are going back to Japan, they already have their next leaders. That is WIT.
During the fall semester, all the regional and campus ministries will resume. We have no ec this year, but will be participating Urbana Mission Convention where 20,000 college Christians will gather to learn about and respond to God’s world mission. That is where JCFN was born! We will be providing translation services and other care to Japanese delegates. Before that, we will be occupied with ANRC12 preparation. All of us from the US office will be going to serve there. It is our prayers that as all the returnees gather at ANRC12 to hear from the Bible what it is to live as Jesus disciples in Japan today and to respond to His calling, those of us from the outside of Japan will also be able to respond to God’s calling.
