Hope all is well as the season transitions from summer to fall. After a one year break, the conference purposed to "equip returnees", equipper conference, will be hosted by JCFN at the end of this year. One of the members of the planning committee shares his testimony of his experience at ec11 and his expectations for ec13.
ec ~ a life changing experience ~
(IBS Director of ec13 Planning Committee)
We're already into September! This year is flying by.
It's a time when students in the US look forward to their new school year.
For me, this semester is very special to me, as there is something I really look forward to. That's this year's ec (equipper conference)!
My first time attending ec was back in 2011. At the time, I didn't even imagine that I would be participating in ec as a member of the planning committee, let alone attending a second time.
At ec11, I received so many blessings. The conference filled with wonderful fellowship, passionate worship, bible studies, and sermons by the speakers that really pierced the heart. Every aspect of the conference was just simply amazing. Personally, it was through this ec that God led me to the path of attending seminary in California. The convictions I received at ec11 are still close to my heart even now.
The theme of ec13 is "SALT + LIGHT〜Blossom where you're sown〜". As one living in the reality of the Kingdom of God, how are we to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world? Where is that we are sown? What does it mean to blossom there? What does a life "seeking first the kingdom of God" look like? We have faith and hope that God will use this year's ec to do great things, to challenge participants, and to grant abundant grace.
The planning committee for ec13 has been in action since March of this year. Serving as a member of the planning committee for the first time, I have been surprised by many things. The biggest impression that I received was the willingness of each committee member to offer themselves to God's work. I learned that being in the planning committee is a big commitment that requires a lot of time and energy. But despite the sacrifices, the members are faithfully and willingly offering themselves to equip Japanese Christians, and to expand the missions in Japan. I have received tremendous encouragement, strength and hope in seeing the faithfulness of the other members. I am confident that God will give special blessings to this year's ec because He has placed such serving and giving people working behind the scenes.
ec changes people.
That does not happen because of the committee's hard work. ec can change the lives of people because our Lord God blesses. He is among us and He will use this conference to accomplish His purposes.
ec is truly a life-changing event. You will meet people who will change your life. You will make decisions that will change your life. God will show us what it means to live a new creation in Christ. He will shows us our purpose in life. I look forward with great expectation to see how God will work in the lives of the participants, including the committee members.
I look forward to seeing all of you at ec13!
